The company also expressed its interest in participating in India’s plans to set up small nuclear power plants and the fuel cycle.
"At Unit 3, pre-commissioning activities are underway, with preparations for one of the key upcoming milestones--testing of safety systems on an open reactor", it said.
Meanwhile, construction and installation work and equipment deliveries continue at Unit-4, and the third phase--Units 5 and 6--is actively under construction,” Rosatom said about the progress in the construction of four more 1,000 MW nuclear power plants.
A working meeting took place in Mumbai today between Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation

The KNPP Units 1 and 2 were connected to India’s national power grid in 2013 and 2016 respectively and they currently supply electricity to the southern regions of the country.
The officials of the two countries also discussed expanding the partnership, including the development of projects for both large-
and small-scale nuclear power plants and cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle.
Particular attention was given to opportunities for localizing equipment production in India, Rosatom said.
Citing India’s plans to increase its nuclear power generation capacity to 100 GW, Alexey Likhachev, Director General, Rosatom,
the company is ready to contribute by offering efficient technologies that have proven their reliability both in Russia and abroad.
